Our Mission & Vision
ChicksThatKick toddler and preschool football sessions aim to bridge the skills gap between boys and girls at grassroots entry level. By providing a fun and nurturing environment where girls can develop technically on the ball as soon as they can walk, our programme aims to give young girls confidence, an understanding of basic football skills and the feeling that football is and always has been for them. Welcoming girls between the age of 18 months and 5 years, ChicksThatKick aims to produce a generation of female footballers who truly have had the best start and equal opportunities in football from the word go.

Girls football is growing rapidly in popularity across the UK and Europe. In recent years, grassroots clubs across many locations have started to provide fantastic footballing opportunities for young girls.
The creation of many girls only teams in various age groups, coupled with the expansion of girls leagues across various regions has seen many girls coming along their local football club to give football a try. Previously, many of them may have been reluctant to join a team comprised mainly of boys, due to worrying that they would not be welcome, that they would struggle physically or that they would already be behind the boys technically/skills wise. The latter is very important to consider.

Many boys are naturally introduced to football from the moment that they can walk. Tots and Preschool football classes have typically been filled mainly with many more boys than girls and it has always been seen as normal for Dads to kick a ball around with their Sons. This means that by the time some young boys start training with a grassroots team, they already have a basic understanding of the game and are relatively comfortable with a ball at their feet. They may have already mastered a handful of basic skills and techniques which gives them a certain amount of confidence in front of their peers to begin with. ChicksThatKick is here to ensure that your daughters can enter the world of grassroots football with that same level of confidence. Football truly should be for everyone 😊

TRACKING YOUR CHILD’S DEVELOPMENT
At ChicksThatKick every child who registers for a block of sessions receives their very own reward chart on which they can see how they have progressed throughout each term. This tracks all elements of social and emotional development, physical capabilities and football skills/techniques. At each class the children are awarded stamps against each developmental area and they are welcome to take their charts home to show to parents, grandparents and anybody else who may be proud to see what they have achieved. This is a great way to build confidence, instil a sense of pride in the girls and to highlight areas of focus and progression.
